Job Description:
The Charter School Growth Fund (CSGF) is a social venture investment fund
that invests in the growth of high-performing schooling organizations. CSGF
accomplishes this mission by providing proven charter school operators with
the guidance and resources necessary to create self-sufficient networks of
high-performing schools. Currently, CSGF is operating with the support of
over $150 million from several major education philanthropies. Over the next
five years, CSGF plans to leverage this pool into assisting high quality
charter operators in developing high achieving schools that will
collectively provide 100,000 new seats to underserved youth nationwide by
2015. By providing financial resources and strategic expertise, CSGF is
enabling some of the nations most innovative entrepreneurs to build
scalable, self-sufficient schooling organizations that provide quality
educational options to thousands of underserved families in diverse
communities.
CSGF is seeking an Analyst who is prepared to be an immediate contributor to
its dynamic team and growing investment portfolio. The right candidate will
have a strong strategic background coupled with a results orientation,
financial and data analysis skills, the capacity to think analytically and
communicate effectively, and be ready to hit the ground running in a young,
growing organization.
Qualifications:
Must have solid strategic-thinking, communication and creative
problem-solving skills.
Immediate ability to interact with clients and analyze strategic plans,
financial models and growth projections.
Must be comfortable working as part of a collaborative team within a
small
organization that is dynamic and growing.
Ability to work across a wide range of projects.
Experience with financial and analytical modeling and financial
statements
and projections; student achievement data analysis experience desired but
not required.
Experience with database programs and tools preferred.
Proficient in the use of the computer, with expertise in Excel, Word,
PowerPoint, and the Internet.
Undergraduate degree required. Advanced degree in business
administration,
finance, management, mathematical modeling or a similar field desired but
not required.
Willing to relocate to Colorado.
Willing to travel.
Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be responsible for working closely with the team to assist
high-potential school operators in developing and executing strategic plans
that include sophisticated models for managing growth and performance. As
part of these engagements, the Analyst will have lead responsibility for
developing and evaluating financial models, assessing the financial health
of schooling organizations, and building portfolio member capacity to
analyze and monitor performance. The Analyst will also be responsible for
analyzing the academic performance of school operators. CSGF is seeking
applicants eager to learn and grow over a 2 year period. During this time,
the Analyst will participate in a professional development track, learning
additional skill sets and education sector and investment specific knowledge
from a diverse and experienced peer set. A high-performing Analyst has the
potential to take on additional projects and be promoted over time.
