Overview:
Responsible for the coordination of the RMHCCF volunteer program, ensuring
maximum volunteer support for all areas. Serves as liaison to volunteer
organizations in the community, maintaining open channels of communication
and support.
Primary Duties
Develop a volunteer recruitment and maintenance strategic plan.
Recruit House and Special Event volunteers via print and online postings,
corporate and community fairs, seminars and speaking engagements. Respond
to email and phone inquiries.
Standardize and maintain volunteer recruitment display table materials.
Screen volunteers, process applications and conduct background checks.
Plan and implement two annual volunteer recognition/social events.
Maintain volunteer profiles and records.
Implement and maintain volunteer recognition programs (birthdays, service
anniversaries, etc.).
Create and distribute a volunteer newsletter.
Update volunteer information posted on website as needed.
Serve as the Share-A-Meal volunteer liaison with Marketing/Development staff
and House Operations Staff.
Recruit, train, communicate with and recognize Special Events volunteers.
Recruit a qualified pool of volunteers for the Speakers Bureau. Maintain
the Bureau by training, scheduling and regularly communicating with Bureau
volunteers.
Seek speaking engagement opportunities.
Establish and maintain Speakers Bureau materials, including but not
limited
to: print materials, scripts, video and PowerPoint presentations.
Conduct bi-annual volunteer surveys.
Implement the annual Valentine cookie donor recognition project.
Assist with annual honorary luncheon.
Attend staff meetings as required.
Qualifications:
Prior experience working with volunteers, coordinating projects and
evaluating results. Candidates must be friendly, with a good-natured
demeanor, courteous and professional with excellent organizational and
planning skills, and be able to provide direction and leadership.
Proficiency with the Microsoft software line and database programs. Strong
verbal and written communication skills, good judgment, flexibility and
dependability.
