Position Announcement: Communications Associate

The organization is seeking a Communications Associate for its Marketing
Team, which plans and implements initiatives that enhance Women Employeds
visibility and increase the number of people who get involved with the
organization and its issues. The primary role of the Communications
Associate will be to develop persuasive communication strategies and
materials that effectively promote the organization and its programmatic and
policy work.
 
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Working with staff to develop creative communications strategies and
high-quality materials including policy briefs, fact sheets, advocacy
alerts, newsletters, and opinion pieces to advance program and policy goals
- Planning and executing website content and online communications
strategies, including e-newsletters, social networking sites, and other
e-communications to varied target audiences
- Coordinating production and mailing of various print materials
- Supporting and coaching staff in maintaining high-quality communications;
reviewing programmatic communications to ensure persuasive and consistent
messaging
- Executing media plans in collaboration with Director of Marketing
- Conducting outreach and developing strategies to engage younger
professional women
- Participating in staff organizational development, planning, and
fundraising activities
 
The ideal candidate: Bachelors degree with at least two years professional
communications and/or marketing experience-- promotional writing experience
a strong plus; excellent planning and project management skills; exceptional
attention to detail; excellent organizational skills; ability to manage
multiple priorities; team player who is able to collaborate effectively and
achieve outcomes; self-directed initiative and resourcefulness; flexibility
and a sense of humor.
