Job Description:
P/T Cablecast Coordinator needed for Chicagos public access TV center.
Chicago Access Network Television (CAN TV) is a nonprofit community resource
that gives every Chicagoan a voice on cable television. CAN TV is a public
forum where Chicagoans can discuss issues of local concern as well as
celebrate talent and initiatives. Training, equipment, facilities and
channel time are provided to help Chicago residents and groups create
programming for CAN TVs five local noncommercial cable channels.
 
Specific responsibilities include:
Provide customer service and support for our community producers and
viewers. Perform technical checks and process programs submitted for
on-air.
Support the department through administrative projects and tape library
maintenance.
Help monitor the on-air channels.
 
Qualifications:
Two years customer service experience.
Proficiency in use of video, editing and computer equipment.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Strong organizational, administrative and communication skills.
Clear understanding of the necessity and role of public access
Ability to troubleshoot technical equipment and computer problems a plus.
Bi-lingual a plus.
Must be available evenings and weekends.
Approx. 16 hrs/week. Salary $11-$12 per hour.
