Job Description:
Grantmakers in Film + Electronic Media (GFEM) is an
association of
grantmakers committed to advancing the field of media
arts and public
interest media funding. GFEM serves as a resource for grantmakers
who fund
media content, infrastructure, and policy, those who employ media to further
their program goals, as well as a collaborative network for funders who wish
to learn more about media. GFEM is an affinity group of the Council on
Foundations.
During the course of a typical year we produce several funder briefings and
screenings, issue publications and mailings, attend conferences and
briefings coordinated by others, and design a host of activities in support
our mission. We are a growing organization comprised of an Executive
Director, Program Associate, and two part-time Program Coordinators.
GFEM seeks a Program Associate to work directly with the Executive Director
to manage the organization and its programs and activities.
Major Responsibilities:
Program & event preparation and coordination
Budget management
Grant proposal preparation and reporting support
Other support work as needed
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years professional
experience preferably in the non-profit sector; experience in
social-interest media and/or philanthropy is a plus. The candidate must
possess at least a bachelors degree or equivalent experience that provides
them with the necessary knowledge, abilities, contacts, and skills required
to fulfill the tasks. The successful candidate brings exceptional written
and oral communications skills, has a solid knowledge of MS Word, Power
Point, and Excel, and has the ability to travel.
Job Status:
The Program Associate position is a full-time position located in the
DOES NOT have office space, therefore the Program
Associate will work
virtually from home. Salary is commensurate with experience; health care
