The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is the
nations leading provider
of conservation service opportunities, outdoor
skills and leadership
training for young people. Our mission is to build the
next generation of
conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of
our environment and
communities by engaging young people in hands-on service
to the land. SCA
volunteers annually provide more than 1.5 million hours of
conservation
service including
trail construction, wildlife research, habitat
restoration and GIS mapping
in parks, forests, refuges and
urban green
spaces in all 50 states.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Partnership Representative who can work
with our Southwest
Region to implement our annual new partner development
plan. Partnership
Representatives seek out new government and NGO agencies
who are interested
in funding and hosting SCA interns/crews to complete
conservation service
projects. The Representative will work closely with the
Partnership Manager
to plan and coordinate sales trips based upon
departmental strategies to
meet established revenue targets.
Responsibilities:
Develop, plan
and implement individual sales trips in consultation with
Manager of
Partnership Development
Sell SCA interns, corps and crews to new, lapsed
and existing partners
within assigned regional geographies.
Establish
contact with new customers through phone calls, emails and
in-person
meetings.
Attend meetings, workshops and conferences to market and sell
SCA
services.
Input all potential customer contact information into MAX
database in a
routine and timely manner; maintain and utilize MAX for all
customer
management activities
Serve as account manager for special
initiatives and/or specific agencies
as assigned.
Serve as regional
representative on respected regional CI team.
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in
natural resources, public administration or similar field.
Sales experience
utilizing tasks such as telemarketing, direct sales,
point-of-purchase sales and product positioning.
Knowledge and understanding of SCAs mission and programs and the
services
SCA provides or willingness to learn same.
Ability to learn and
comprehend the complex fiscal and political factors
influencing public land
management so as to assist SCA customers with
selecting and pursuing SCA
services.
Public speaking and presentation experience.
Database management skills in Excel, Outlook or similar
system.
Ability to work independently
Valid drivers license
with MVR that meets SCA standards
Willingness to travel 2-3 times per month
for multiple days
