Job Description:
Position Overview: ECF seeks a Marketing & Communications Manager to help
increase the foundations visibility across the state, while maintaining
consistent and cohesive messages and branding. S/he will also play a central
role in facilitating fundraising through direct mail campaigns, donor
relations, and online efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong
writing and speaking skills and will be comfortable working both
independently and as part of a team. S/he will be based at ECFs
Headquarters in Scotch Plains, NJ.
 
Reports to: Managing Director
 
Responsibilities
 Manage production, creation, distribution, and performance of direct mail
appeals, bi-annual newsletters, and other promotional materials, as needed
 Write and update content for ECF website, blog, and regional e-newsletters
 Initiate and manage online fundraising initiatives
 Oversee donor relations program, write all correspondence, and identify
new and future donors as sources of major gifts
 Maintain foundations central donor database
 Collaborate with PR firm to create and distribute press releases for ECF
 Work with Development Team to coordinate all fundraising and planning
efforts for the foundation
 Supervise Dress Down Day program for all five regions
 Represent ECF at conferences, fundraisers, and recipient days
 Facilitate Compassionate Communications partnership, including working
with Managing Director and Case Managers to identify eligible families
 
Qualifications
 Minimum of a Bachelors degree. Specialization in marketing,
communications, public relations, journalism, or other relevant degree
preferred
 Minimum 1-2 years experience in non-profit work and/or database management
 Exceptional writing and public speaking skills
 High level of professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail
 Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work both independently and as part
of a team
 Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and database programs; knowledge of
Photoshop or equivalent design program & website management software.
 Ability to interact effectively with staff, Board, volunteers, donors, and
vendors.
