Job Description:
Sierra Club, the country's oldest, largest and most influential
environmental conservation organization, is seeking a Regional Political
Organizer in Albuquerque, NM to plan, organize and implement the education
and mobilization efforts of the Sierra Club on its political, public
education and issue advocacy campaigns. The Political Organizer coordinates
national grassroots involvement in campaigns including organizing voter
contact, house parties, earned media, community and coalition outreach.
 
Requires: 1-2 years experience working in the environmental movement,
political campaigns, or other, similar organizations to plan and implement
grassroots campaigns; a minimum of 1 electoral campaign worked with a focus
on field activities; current contacts with environmental coalition and/or
political campaign partners in same key media market, or comparable
background; excellent communication skills; ability to work both
independently and cooperatively; proficient computer skills; ability to
travel as needed.
