Fundraising Campaign Manager
About Us:
The mission of the Eastern NC Regional Science Center (DBA: GO-Science) is
to enable the exploration and experience of science and math through
engaging and enriching interactive experiences that consequently enhance the
levels of science and math literacy for all people in North Carolina.
GO-Science, a regional science center being developed in Greenville North
Carolina, will focus on enhancing the level of science and math literacy for
all people in the region. Open to the public as a regional resource, the
center will offer programs for grade school levels, undergraduate and
graduate studies and for the independent adult learner.
This science center will enrich the community and the region through on-site
programs that offer unique learning and entertainment opportunities that
will excite and stimulate students and visitors. The center will include a
planetarium, temporary and permanent exhibit spaces, a Challenger Learning
Center (CLC), the East Carolina University Center for Science Technology,
and Math Education, advanced life-sciences and physics-chemistry classrooms,
a local television station with a complete weather department and studio,
along with a gift shop and cafi.
While the facility itself is in the development stages an outreach program
has been established to go into classrooms across the region and provide
exciting, hands-on innovative learning. In addition, the first phase of the
science center, a Challenger Learning Center, is on schedule to open in
Winter of 2009.
Job Overview:
The Campaign Manager works with the Board of Directors, Executive Director,
campaign leaders, program staff, and campaign counsel to plan, implement,
and sustain all aspects of GO-Sciences capital campaign.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess a bachelors degree, 3 years or more
experience in fundraising or related fields that require building and
managing relationships with people of influence and affluence and supporting
their needs.
Previous work with nonprofits focused on the science and/or education is
preferred. Additionally major donor cultivation and/or campaign experience
is preferred. Demonstrated experience working with databases and Microsoft
Office systems are essential, as are exemplary written and communication
skills.
Project management and volunteer management skills are a must. Understanding
of accounting principals is preferred. The position requires an energetic,
highly organized, self-managing, self starter with confidence and personal
presentation needed to establish personal relationships with major
supporters of GO-Science.
