Production Job Descriptions
Lead soil sorter-Complete blood borne pathogen training-Follow all company safety standards and policies-Abide by the union contract-Meet all department production standards (Soil team sorting 9,000 lbs. per hour)-Meet all departmental quality standards (Soil team maintaining 2% or less missorts)-Carry out all plant management and supervisory directives-Follow department personal SOP-Train all new hires-Maintain a clean work environment throughout the shift
Soil sorter-Complete blood borne pathogen training upon being hired-Follow all company safety standards and policies-Abide by the union contract-Meet all individual production standards (Sort at 800 lbs. per. hour)-Meet all departmental quality standards (maintain 2% or less missort average)-Sort all linen in small piles and place in correct soil hoppers-Rotate position on the belt on an hourly basis and if there is poor workflow to the work area rotate to the part on the belt that the workflow is heaviest-Maintain a clean work area
Material Handler (Dumper)-Complete blood borne pathogen training upon being hired-Follow all company safety standards and policies-Abide by the union contract-Meet all production standards (dump 15 carts per. hour or 4500 pounds)-Grab individual bags from in coming hospital carts and open each bag placing the soil linen on the incline belt. -Meet all departmental quality standards (break up balled linen)-Take all plastic and debris out of finished cart-Maintain a clean work area
Cart man-Complete blood borne pathogen training upon being hired-Follow all company safety standards and policies-Abide by the union contract-Meet all production standards (set up 6-10 carts on soil dock for drivers to deliver to floor bring the remaining 15 to 20 carts on the soil elevator per hour)-Meet all departmental quality standards (Verify that all debris is pulled out of the cart and push one cart through the cart wash at a time using the next cart to push through the first one-Evenly disperse carts to floor production employee belt catchers (5 cans per station)-Take up all stain and missort on the soil elevator each time a empty cart is retrieved-Maintain a clean work area
Compact lead-Complete blood borne pathogen training-Follow all company safety standards and policies-Abide by the union contract-Meet all department production standard (9 compacts running at 90% of standard or better)-Meet all department production standards (2% rejects or less for each compact employee)-Perform a quality check for each employee in the department-Post hourly production scores on each compact-Carry out all plant management and supervisory directives-Train all new hires-Maintain a clean work environment throughout the shift
Compact feeder (Machine fold)-Complete blood pathogen training-Follow all company safety standards and policies-Abide by the union contract-Meet all departmental production standards (All employees responsible for running at a minimum of 90% of standard)-Feed clean linen out of hamper carts piece by piece while looking for stain and mend-Meet all departmental quality standards (Maintain 2% or less reject percentage-discard all stain and mending in designated areas )-Maintain a clean work area
Compact belt catcher-Complete blood borne pathogen training-Follow all company safety standards and policies-Abide by the union contract-Meet all departmental production standards (Keep compact belts running at all times-do not stop compacts)-Pack clean linen into bulk carts to prepare for distribution-Meet all departmental quality standards (No debris left in cart or in wheels of cart-maintain a neat finished package-accurate counts on linen in carts-pull any visible holes or stain linen and discard properly)-Maintain a clean work area
Ironer feeder-Complete blood borne pathogen training-Follow all company safety standards and policies-Abide by the union contract-Meet all departmental production standards (All employees are responsible for running at a minimum of 90% of standard)-Feed clean conditioned sheets and pillowcases one by one while looking for stain and mend- Meet all departmental quality standards (Maintain 2% or less reject percentage-discard all stain and mending in designated areas)-Maintain a clean work area
Ironer belt catcher-Complete blood borne pathogen training-Follow all company safety standards and policies-Abide by the union contract-Meet all departmental production standards (Keep ironers running at all times)-Pack all clean finished linen into a bulk cart to prepare for distribution-Meet all departmental quality standards (No debris left in cart or wheels of the cart-maintain a neat finished package-accurate counts on linen in carts-pull any visible holes or stain and discard properly)-Maintain a clean work area
Make Up Lead-Complete blood borne pathogen training-Follow all company safety standards and policies-Abide by union contract-Must have basic computer skill (data entry)-Meet all departmental production standards( Make sure all orders are completed and manifested on time)-Communicate to plant supervision throughout the day to ensure on time deliveries-Meet all departmental quality standards (Complete 8-10 finished cart spot checks to verify carts are packed neatly and accurately)-Carry out all supervisory directives-Train all new hires in the department-Maintain a clean work area.
Make Up employee-Complete blood borne pathogen training-Follow all company safety standards and policies-Abide by union contract-Must have basic computer skill (data entry)-Weigh all finished carts in the distribution area making sure the cart is within the minimum and maximum weight range for a specific linen item (If cart is too heavy take items proper items out of the cart to meet accurate weight range-if cart is not heavy enough add proper amount of linen to the cart to meet accurate weight range)-Meet all departmental quality standards (Make sure all carts are completely covered and are in good working condition)-Maintain a clean work area
