Job Description:
The ASSET*AmeriCorps Program Coordinator at United Cerebral Palsy of Texas
will plan, organize, and implement a statewide AmeriCorps program to support
the programs efforts. ASSET*AmeriCorps members will assist people with
disabilities to reach their economic independence goals by utilizing
financial literacy skills, assistive technology, and affordable housing as
tools to reach their goals. The Program Coordinator will provide
supervision of the AmeriCorps members serving in Texas communities
throughout the state.
 
Specific responsibilities will include:
1.Organizing, coordinating and implementing the ASSET*AmeriCorps program
activities.
2.Developing and implementation of program including community and capacity
building activities.
3.Preparing reports of project activities to document program and related
activities including tracking of AmeriCorps members leave and reporting.
4.Assisting with the recruitment, placement, and support of ASSET*AmeriCorps
members statewide.
5.Ensuring accuracy and completion of member files and program files.
6.Assisting in the coordination and administration of the ASSET*AmeriCorps
program.
7.Assisting in employing, training, and evaluating ASSET program staff.
8.Supervising AmeriCorps members and provide assistance to local Host Site
supervisors to recruit members, implement activities to accomplish project
goals.
9.Providing technical assistance to AmeriCorps members and Host Site
Supervisors.
10.Collaborating with community programs and other appropriate groups
serving as a point of contact for the project.
11.Coordinating short-term projects, as needed.
12.All other assigned duties.
 
Desired Education, Knowledge, Skills and/or abilities:
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and expertise:
1.College degree in health or human services, business or field related to
this project or demonstrated equivalent experience in related areas.
2.Demonstrated knowledge of the local community and experience in project
implementation and program development.
3.Demonstrated ability to supervise, coordinate multiple activities, manage
time and evaluate progress.
4.Demonstrated ability to aggregate performance data and prepare reporting
documents accurately on a regular basis and present information in a clear
and concise manner.
5.Experience with national service programs, specifically AmeriCorps*State
programs; demonstrated leadership abilities and ability to work with diverse
communities and businesses.
6.Working knowledge of social service and disability service delivery system
in Texas; knowledge may be based on personal experience, professional
training and experience, and/or experience in direct service delivery.
7.Excellent writing and communication skills; proficiency in word processing
and database programs.
8.Evidence of commitment to full inclusion of individuals with disabilities
in all aspects of society.
 
1.Position is grant-funded.
2.Must be willing and able to travel to project sites within Texas area to
implement the project and out of state training as required. Occasional
overnight travel may occur.
