Job Description:
Prewitt Organizing Fund and its affiliated unions seek organizers to take
responsibility for developing and leading union organizing campaigns.
Organizers build organizing committees, run meetings, and work on campaign
strategy.
 
We are uniting workers in industries such as hospitality, construction,
retail, food processing, healthcare, and trucking and transportation among
others, and are committed to bringing the American Dream to all working
people.
 
Positions are available in Central Virginia and in many locations around the
country.
 
Responsibilities include:
Lead, motivate and mobilize workers
Identify and mentor worker leaders
Communicate one-on-one with workers
Plan, implement, and evaluate campaign strategies and tactics with senior
staff
Assess information, frame issues, and cope with shifting campaign needs
efficiently and intelligently
Help build the Union through leadership and committee development, actions,
mobilizations, keeping campaign records and other assigned tasks
Follow strategic plans with strict accountability to obligations
Participate in research, communications, political, community, and legal
campaign components as needed
 
 
Qualifications:
Demonstrated commitment to social justice
Ability to work and irregular hours and travel as required by campaign and
organizational needs
Excellent communication skills
English/Spanish bilingual a plus
