Job Description:
Summary of Responsibilities:
Business Mentors guide our peer-lending groups, which are small groups of
Washington CASH clients who meet for support and access to CASH services
(including small loans and ongoing training and technical assistance).
 
Job Description:
Business Mentors will meet weekly with a small group of 5-10 entrepreneurs
to provide direction and assistance for the members.
 
Specific Responsibilities:
 Participate in each of the groups meetings
 Become familiar with the group members and their businesses
 Help keep the group members focused on their business goals
 Connect group members to CASH staff and business resources
 Assist members in the preparation of group loan applications.
 Introduce the person you are mentoring to your personal network.
 
Time Commitment:
Approximately 2 hours a week for a 6 month commitment. The groups typically
meet at the Washington CASH office (2100 24th Avenue S. in Seattle) from
6:30-8:30 pm every other Tuesday or Wednesday. Some groups meet off site
and/or at other times.
 
Qualifications:
 Business Mentors must have experience in starting or growing their own
business.
 Special consideration will be given to former CASH clients who have
successfully launched their own businesses.
 Must be able to listen deeply, and be understanding of the many personal
obstacles to business-ownership our group members encounter.
