Title: Manager, Grants and Evaluation
 
Reports To: Director of Organizational Development
 
Location: Washington, DC
 
Basic Function:
 
Reporting to the Director of Organizational Development and working closely
with the Finance Director and program directors, the Grants Manager is
responsible for managing and administrating ONEs grants, including all
grant tracking and reporting. The Grants Manager also will work with the
Director of Organizational Development to explore measurement and evaluation
approaches and tools to augment ONEs already established, internally driven
management by priorities and key results methodology. The Grants Manager
will co-ordinate the creation of ONEs annual report as well as other
reports as needed. In addition, the Grants Manager will also lend support
to the Development Director in providing both current and prospective donors
with information regarding ONEs programs and results.
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
 Co-ordinate and fulfill all reporting requirements for active grants
 Act as day-to-day contact for program/grant managers on the funder side
 Work with Finance Director and program directors to track progress of
grant activities according to grant requirements
 Create standard report templates for a variety of purposes
 Work with Director of Organizational Development to explore supplemental
Measurement & Evaluation approaches; implement and manage, as needed
 Provide support and materials to Director of Development and Executive
Outreach for current and prospective donors, as well as other
influencer-stakeholders
 Manage outgoing grants to other NGOs
 Ensure compliance with best practices and IRS and other regulatory
guidelines for outgoing grants, especially to non-US organizations
 Co-ordinate gifts to other NGOs and nonprofit/civil society practitioners
 Provide content for and co-ordinate production of an annual report
 
SPECIFIC TYPES OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
 
 Experience as a grants manager or program manager, based on work
experience at grantmaker/s or grantee (preferably both)
 Experience with grant administration and reporting
 Understanding of grantmaker-grantee relationships and dynamics
 Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
 Experience with current M&E methodologies
 Strong analytical ability; ability to analyze data, patterns, trends
 Proficiency with Excel
 Familiarity with IRS guidelines governing nonprofit organizations
 Understanding of the key differences between types of nonprofit
organizations and permissible activities, especially 501(c)(3)s, 501(c)(4)s,
and 527s
 Familiarity with IRS and other govt guidelines for giving money to
foreign organizations
 Experience with development/fundraising
 Strong understanding of customer service/client service
 Detailed oriented
 Exceptionally well-organized and planful, deliberate
 Strong collaborative nature, proven success working with others
 Patience
 Sense of humor
