Job Description:
The Marijuana Policy Project, a fast-paced, well-respected lobbying
organization, is seeking a Development Coordinator to work in the Membership
Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong proficiency with Excel is required. Applicants should also be very
comfortable working with numbers, because many of the position's duties
require calculating the revenues that fundraising mailings are projected to
raise, determining the number of membership renewal requests that need to go
out in a given month, and so forth.
Additionally, candidates should have a meticulous attention to detail, be
highly organized, and be able to perform exceptionally in a fast-paced
environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Development Coordinator is responsible for:
* Coordinating membership list rentals and exchanges, telemarketing, and
revenue-generating programs under the supervision of the Membership
Director;
* Managing MPPs merchandise and premium item programs, including tracking
MPP's merchandise inventory, investigating new items, tracking revenues and
profits, and working with the IT Department and Outreach Department to
coordinate a new online store;
* Processing, tracking, and shipping all merchandise purchases (t-shirts,
playing cards, etc.) and summarizing merchandise transactions and revenues
each month for the membership coordinator and bookkeeper;
* Overseeing MPPs monthly thank-you, renewal, and other in-house mailings,
including supervising temps and volunteers;
* Preparing mailing data for the Membership Department's approximately 10
annual out-of-house mailings, as well as for all other departments' in-house
and out-of-house mailings;
* Maintaining an inventory of the Membership Departments materials,
including renewal letters, thank-you letters, letterhead, brochures,
envelopes and other printed materials; DVDs and stickers; and so forth;
* Assisting the Development Officer and the Executive Director in reaching
out to high-dollar prospects and donors across the country; and
* Performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned, such as taking phone
calls from members and prospective members; coordinating MPPs work with
speakers bureaus; managing MPP online auctions; and liaising with charity
rating services.
The Development Coordinator reports to MPP's Membership Director, who in
turn reports to MPP's Executive Director.
COMPENSATION
The salary of the Development Coordinator is $35,000. The position includes
full health insurance and an optional retirement package.
