Job Description:
The National Women's Law Center seeks a Legislative Representative for its
womens Health and Reproductive Rights Program. The individual will have
responsibility for assisting with monitoring and responding to key federal
policy developments in the areas of access to health care and health
insurance, including Medicaid, SCHIP and private insurance, and general
womens health. Additionally, the individual will develop written materials
to advance the goals of the Center, participate in a variety of federal
health and reproductive rights coalitions, and help coordinate advocacy
strategies with the field and communication staff, as well as work with
federal policymakers.
 
Qualifications
 
The ideal candidate will be a creative, self-motivated, strategic and
political thinker with three to five years of health policy experience.
Direct legislative experience is highly desirable. Excellent research,
written and oral communications skills are required. JD or Masters degree
is required. The ideal candidate will possess proven initiative and
follow-through, the ability to work quickly and well under pressure, and a
commitment to womens health and rights.
