Job Description:
This position manages all aspects of Washington National Operas Camerata
Patron Program, which consists of gift levels from $2,500 to $25,000,
including responsibility for coordinating the Planned Giving program.
 
Responsibilities include:
 
Increasing Camerata membership base through identification, cultivation and
solicitation of donors, renewing and upgrading current donors, and ensuring
that all donor privileges are fulfilled through pro-active stewardship.
 
Ensure cultivation/solicitation of Camerata members by assisting with direct
mail appeals, membership materials and brochures, and collaborating with the
Special Events Department on Camerata events.
 
Develop strategies for identifying new donor pools and assist in identifying
high-giving potential.
 
Participate directly in solicitation/cultivation process as needed,
including face-to-face visits.
 
Qualifications:
 
Bachelors Degree (advanced degree preferred)
5+ years leadership experience in the development field, including an
outstanding record in closing major gifts.
Familiarity with Planned Giving programs and instruments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to exercise good judgment, show initiative, and handle sensitive
information.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work individually and as a team.
Knowledge of computerized donor database programs and Microsoft Office.
Interest/knowledge in opera, music, or the performing arts.
