Position Title: Summer Program Instructor
 
Program: School Age/ Youth Development
 
Supervisor: School Age Coordinator
 
Primary Purpose of the Job: The Summer Program Instructor will work in
collaboration with the School Age/ Youth Development team to implement the
program curriculum in the areas of art and academic enrichment, Summer Youth
Employment, health, and community service in keeping with the mission and
vision of CentroNma.
 
Essential Duties:
1. Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate learning and
enrichment activities using student-centered and inquiry based approaches
for assigned groups of students, between the ages of 518.
2. Provide ongoing communication about students progress and performance to
the Program Coordinator.
3. Participate and contribute to the development of the program through
attendance of staff meetings and planning sessions.
4. Supervise students during program activities and field trips.
5. Provide 3-page type written report, summarizing and documenting program
implementation and interaction with students.
6. Model a consistent philosophical and caring approach to working with
children and youth along with an appropriate example of professional
conduct.
 
Required Core Competencies: Strong organizational, leadership, interpersonal
and communication skills. Able to work both independently and with others in
a team approach. Experience working in a multicultural environment.
 
Required Experience: 2 - 3 years working with school-age youth in a
recreational and/or educational setting.

Required Education: Associate of Arts degree preferred. Bilingual Spanish/
English preferred.
