Job Description:
Oregon Campus Compact (ORCC) is currently recruiting AmeriCorps*VISTA members to serve on college campuses across the state. ORCC VISTA members mobilize college students to address poverty through service-learning and community service, develop and sustain campus-community partnerships to serve low-income communities, and build and strengthen service-learning programs that connect learning and service to facilitate social change.

Responsibilities
1.Cultivate partnerships with community organizations that address the needs of low-income youth and families
2.Recruit, train, and place student volunteers in the community
3.Provide leadership development training, support, and reflection opportunities for student volunteers
4.Work with faculty to create and coordinate service-learning programs
5.Assist in the planning and implementation of a campus days of service
6.Coordinate events to engage and educate the campus and community regarding poverty issues.

Term of Service is November 30, 2007-November 29, 2008.

Qualifications
1. College Degree (Bachelor's Degree Preferred)
2. Interest and experience in community service/service learning
3. Knowledge of and/or interest in working with college students, faculty, staff, and community partners
4. Strong organizational skills, project and multi-task management, and public speaking
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
6. Computer proficiency
7. Ability to make a full-year commitment

AmeriCorps*VISTA is a full-time national service program intended to develop lasting solutions to the problems of poverty in America by serving in nonprofit organizations and agencies to develop and expand the organizations services, strengthen programs and empower low-income individuals.
